Let me introduce myself.....

My name is Sharon McKenzie and I did all the stuff you are supposed to do. Met a guy, got married, had a kid, you know, domestic bliss! πŸ™„ I worked nights at Thomas Cook when my son was young. We didn't have childcare and only had 1 car, so I Iiterally handed the baby over at the door when my husband came home. I worked 6 til midnight, then up with a baby! πŸ‘ΆIt wasn't easy. Years passed until I realised just how unhappy I was. Was this it? I wanted more. In 2012 I started my little business. ( I do permanent makeup and advanced skin treatments) Permanent makeup was just starting to appear and I knew it was going to be big! My basic philosophy in life is, if you don't like something, change it, if you can't change it, change the way you look at it. In 2014 I ended my marriage and began life as a single mum and small business owner. We moved into a 4 bed Victorian semi where I also moved my business. Boy was that tough! but we were very happy.( my son was with me 90% of the time) I had even started online dating! 😳 I had survived! In 2018 I met David, everything was perfect! Then Covid came along and my world collapsed. I nearly lost everything. due to the business set up, I received no financial help from the government, I had to move the business out. A friend let me set up in her premises as she was able to work online but I needed to be ready for when we were allowed to open again. I then made the hard decision to sell up, Only to find that nobody would touch me for a mortgage. I had a nightmare mad dash to find somewhere to live! At the last minute we found a house to rent but it was large and very expensive! I was also trying to find new business premises. This was probably one of my lowest moments, there I was, sitting in this ugly big house I hated, crying my eyes out because the new premises that I was days away from getting the keys, had fell through. I was devastated.😭 Without my son and David, I dread to think how that would have went. But, again, I survived. After a few months of searching we found new premises and I finally got approved for a mortgage. in Feb 22 we moved house and business for the third time! We now live in a 2 bed flat, which I hate, but It will do. The salon was large, 4 rooms, and we had grand plans to rent out rooms, but that didn't quite go to plan. At the end of 2022 I was having some health issues, and I ended up in hospital for a week. After a gazillion tests, I was diagnoses with transverse myelitis and sent home. "You should be fine in a couple months" I was told. But I wasn't! In Dec 23 I was finally diagnosed with MS. In between all this David was going through numerous back surgeries. Lucky white heather!! But here I am, surviving, yet again. Survival has become second nature to me. I had to give up the large salon, the stress was just too much for me. I now work 3 days per week out beautiful new premises. My health has stabilised and I'm even back at the gym! but how did I get here writing this course? Easy, my wonderful clients! Most of the topics I cover are based on genuine conversations I have had with customers over the years and I realised you guys are looking for a bit of help and I actually do know quite a lot of shit! 😁 And I've made it through a whole lot of shit too! πŸ’ͺ So here I am sharing it all with you guys. I hope you enjoy it! Sharon xx
